Why you're still not getting any sleep!

For a third of your life, you're just not there, hovering in a suspended state of matter with everything slowed down and susceptible to the environments influence.

Sleep isn't just a one way process from shut eye to open, boom eight hours gone just like that. Instead, there are different types and stages of sleep.

Stages 1 and 2 our shallow sleeping state, this is when we're easily awaken. Now there soon (hopefully) becomes your deep slow wave sleep, your stages 3 and 4, where your 'less likely' to be woken and disturbed by the flickering of blue light and darken violations outside your window. The next step and stages of sleep are of which i find upmost pleasing; Rapid Eye Movement (REM), where the eyes dart around following dreams and elbows fling towards your partner in crime.

These stages of sleep tend to be repeated, drifting through a shallow, deep and REM like state and back up and through again every 90 minutes, if and when optimal.

So that begs the questions, what maybe promoting a less than optimal sleeping state?

Q. Do you have sufficient Glycogen to get through the night?

If not, then you're more than likely waking up between 2-4am needing to urinate or with a strangely high pulse. When glycogen isn't adequate and blood sugar falls to signal the mobilisation of free fatty acids, cortisol and glucogon (glucocorsoid) rise. Its a perfectly normal response when someone doesn't know how to meet their energy demands and is constantly in a state of stress. Cortisol will wake you up and prep you to fight or flight. If this does happen, then simply sip some orange juice or have half a rice cake and jam to down regulate the stress response. This may sound crazy and kind or weird, but its sugar thats antagonistic to cortisol and salt that counteracts and lowers adrenaline!

“Since glucose and salt are used to treat shock (intravenous 7.5% salt solutions are effective), it seems appropriate to use carbohydrate (preferably sugar, rather than starch) and salty foods during the night, to minimize the stress reaction"-Ray Peat

Q. Blue light interferes with specific regulatory enzymes, when do you switch the phone off?

"Cytochrome Oxidase is one of the enzymes (that complete the krebs cycle) damaged by stress and by blue light, and activated or restored by red light, thyroid, and progesterone.
It’s a copper enzyme, so it’s likely to be damaged by excess iron. It is most active when it is associated with a mitochondrial lipid, cardiolipin, that contains saturated palmitic acid; the substitution of polyunsaturated fats lowers its activity.
Mitochonrial function in general is poisoned by the unsaturated fats, especially arachidonic acid and DHA.”- FPS

“By the 1960s, several studies had been published showing the inhibition of the respiratory enzyme (cytochrome oxidase) by blue light, and their activation by red light.”- Ray Peat

Q. CO2 and Oxygen work synergistically to regulate PH and energy, how are you breathing at night?

Modern people breathe about 12 L/min and have less CO2 and O2 in body cells. Their body oxygen level is about 15-25 s and breathing frequency at rest is up to 18-25 breaths per minute.

Such a person:
- may need more time to fall asleep (up to 5-30 minutes or more);
- can sleep up to 7-9 hours and in different positions;
- can remember dreams and may have nightmares;
- wakes up feeling tired, often with about 10 seconds control pause due to morning hyperventilation.

Why? During the previous day and night, this individual has had chronically low tissue stores of O2 and CO2 due to an ineffective breathing pattern. The muscles were tense, instead of naturally relaxed, and the brain hypoxic and over-excited, instead of calm. Even during sleep, the brain, due to hyperventilation, remained abnormally excited (remember “spontaneous and asynchronous firing of cortical neurons”?) and hypoxic. Hence, most people will suffer from some degree of insomnia and cannot sleep less than 7-8 hours due to their ineffective breathing pattern (visit normalbreathing.com for some great extended content).

Sleep well, slow down and be wise.

Understanding Dreams!

Parts of the brain that regulate muscle movement, the brain stem regions that control breathing and heart rate- all experience an increase in metabolic activity during Rapid Eye Movement (REM), even more so than when awake.

In a part of the brain known as the limbic system, which is involved in emotion and reaction, you'll also see an increase in metabolism. The same for areas associated with memory and sensory processing, more specifically those involved in vision and hearing.

Something particularly subtle goes on in the visual processing regions. The part of the cortex that processes the first bits of visual information does not show much of an increase in metabolism, yet there is a big jump up in the regions that integrate simple, visual information.
That begs the questions, *How can this be, when, on top of it, your eyes are closed? This my friends is dreaming.
If plant respond to environment, metabolise and die, then, do plants dream?

That tells us something about how dream imagery arises. But something else that happens in the brain that tells us something about the content of dreams. Theres a part of the brain called the 'frontal cortex'. Its the most recently evolved part of the human brain, its huge in primates and the last part of the brain to completely develop and mature.

The frontal cortex helps you do the harder, rather than easier things, for example, thinking in a logical, sequential manner, rather than bouncing all over the place cognitively. it keeps you from shouting at someone in public, just because you feel like it, stops you from telling someone exactly how you feel about their hideous outfit and instead finds something complimentary. The frontal cortex does all the 'discipling of you by inhibiting the frothy, emotional limbic system - Dr Sapolsky.

If you damage the frontal cortex, someone will likely become "frontally disinhibited", doing and saying the things we may think about but would never act upon. During REM sleep, metabolism in the frontal cortex turns down, turning up the limbic system to come up with the most outlandish ideas. Thats why dreams are dreamlike, illogical, non sequential, hyperemotional etc.. You'll probably breathe and talk underwater, fly in the air and announce your love for a stranger, create nd invent language whilst taking over new kingdoms and planets.

That gives you an understanding of dreams and sleep, but what is sleep for? To keep it short and tasty for this blog, Dr Robert Sapolsky states; "You die without it, even fruit flies need it. The most obvious answer is to appreciate that your brain consume a vast amount of energy to pull off all that calculus and symphony writing that you do, the brain constitutes around 3 percent of total body mass, but yet needs nearly a quarter of all energy". So rest.

Why sugar is an antioxidant!

A sugary breakfast.
The same chemical composition as
'table sugar' aka sucrose, but with minerals/fibre!

Sugar (glucose + fructose = sucrose), or more specifically white sugar has been demonised for years and it seems as if the attack on sugar (just like salt and fat) takes place in cycles of 5 or so years.

Though glucose can actually be viewed as the ultimate antioxidant. We tend to think of antioxidants as compounds that will directly neutralise reactive oxygen species in a test tube, but we actually have a complex endogenous antioxidant system that is ultimately fuelled by glucose.

Through the pentose phosphate pathway, glucose supplies hydrogen ions and electrons, which we could call "reducing power", to NADPH, which is derived from niacin, also known as vitamin B3. The enzyme glutathione reductase uses riboflavin, also known as vitamin B2, to pass this reducing power to glutathione. Glutathione, the master endogenous antioxidant, then uses this reducing power to neutralise hydrogen peroxide to water, to neutralise lipid peroxides to less harmful hydroxy-fatty acids, and to recycle vitamin C, vitamin C recycles vitamin E, the principle component against lipid per oxidation in cellular membranes.

Thus, the multiple roles of gluthathione within the antioxidant defines system, mitigating the accumulation of reactive oxygen species, protecting vulnerable fatty acids within the cellular membranes, and cleaning up any damage that has slipped through the system, are all ultimately supported by the reducing power derived from glucose.

Insulin signalling is also important to the antioxidant defence system because it increases the synthesis of glutathione. One small but fascinating study publish demonstrated the relevance of this point in type two diabetes. Compared with the healthy controls, diabetic patients had poor glutathione status. In fact, their ratio of reduced to oxidised glutathione was cut in half. The investigators then exposed the diabetic patients to a euglycemic hyperinsulinemic clamp. In this approach, both the sugar and insulin are infused into the patients blood at concentrations that keep blood sugar normal and insulin elevated. After being exposed to this condition for two hours, the glutathione status of the diabetics normalised to the levels of healthy controls.

In principle, what Mr Master John is trying to say, is that glucose is the master antioxidant and insulin is central to the defence against oxidative stress and glycation. But that doesn't mean, more is always better!

The best way to devalue your food. Part 1. (Lita Lee)

The majority of western and somewhat developed homes now have microwave ovens used for meal preparation. Because microwave ovens are so convenient and energy efficient, as compared to conventional ovens, very few homes or restaurants are without them. In general, people believe that whatever a microwave oven does to the food cooked in it, doesn’t have any negative effect on either the food itself or them.
Of course, if microwave ovens were really harmful, international governments would never allow them on the market, would they?

Regardless of what has been “officially” released concerning microwave ovens, I myself and close family have stopped using ours based on the research facts outlined in the abundance of literature.

The purpose of this blog is to show – evidence – that microwave cooking is not natural, neither is it healthy, and is far more dangerous to the human body than anyone could imagine. However, the microwave oven manufacturers, global politics, and plain old human nature are suppressing the facts and evidence. Because of this, people are continuing to microwave their food – in blissful ignorance – without knowing the effects and danger of doing so.
How do microwave ovens work?
Microwaves are a form of electromagnetic energy, like light waves or radio waves, they occupy a part of the electromagnetic spectrum of power. Microwaves are very short waves of electromagnetic energy that travel at the speed of light (186,282 miles per second). In our technological age, microwaves are used to relay long distance telephone signals, television programs, and computer information across the earth or to a satellite in space. But the microwave is most familiar to us as an energy source for cooking food.
In commercial models, the oven has a power input of about 1000 watts of alternating current. As these microwaves generated from the magnetron bombard the food, they cause the molecules to rotate at the same frequency millions of times a second. All this agitation creates molecular friction, which heats up the food.
The friction also causes substantial damage to the surrounding molecules, often tearing them apart or forcefully deforming them. The scientific name for this deformation is structural isomerism. By comparison, microwaves from the sun are based on principles of pulsed direct current (DC) that don’t create frictional heat; microwave ovens use alternating current (AC) creating frictional heat. A microwave oven produces a spiked wavelength of energy with all
Darjeeling's healing morning spectrum
the power going into only one narrow frequency of the energy spectrum.

Energy from the sun operates in a wide frequency spectrum.

In simpler terms, a microwave oven decays and changes the molecular structure of the food by the process of radiation. Had the manufacturers accurately called them “radiation ovens”, it’s doubtful they would have ever sold one, but that’s exactly what a microwave oven is.

Are microwaves unsafe for baby’s milk?
A number of warnings have been made public, but have been barely noticed. For example, Young Families, the Minnesota Extension Service of the University of Minnesota, published the following in 1989:

“Although microwaves heat food quickly, they are not recommended for heating a baby’s bottle. The bottle may seem cool to the touch, but the liquid inside may become extremely hot and could burn the baby’s mouth and throat. Also, the buildup of steam in a closed container, such as a baby bottle, could cause it to explode. Heating the bottle in a microwave can cause slight changes in the milk. In infant formulas, there may be a loss of some vitamins. In expressed breast milk, some protective properties may be destroyed. Warming a bottle by holding it under tap water, or by setting it in a bowl of warm water, then testing it on your wrist before feeding may take a few minutes longer, but it is much safer.”
Dr. Lita Lee of Hawaii reported in the December 9, 1989 Lancet:

“Microwaving baby formulas converted certain trans-amino acids into their synthetic cis-isomers. Synthetic isomers, whether cis-amino acids or trans-fatty acids, are not biologically active. Further, one of the amino acids, L-proline, was converted to its d-isomer, which is known to be neurotoxic (poisonous to the nervous system) and nephrotoxic (poisonous to the kidneys). It’s bad enough that many babies are not nursed, but now they are given fake milk (baby formula) made even more toxic via microwaving.”
Blood that was microwaved killed a patient
In 1991, there was a lawsuit in Oklahoma concerning the hospital use of a microwave oven to warm blood needed in a transfusion. The case involved a hip surgery patient, Norma Levitt, who died from a simple blood transfusion. It seems the nurse had warmed the blood in a microwave oven. This tragedy
Whilst not an oven, the mobile/cell phone utilises
microwave frequency in order to communicate and
while 'non-ionising', the accumulative effects of
chronic exposure are real.
makes it very apparent that there’s much more to “heating” with microwaves than we’ve been led to believe. Blood for transfusions is routinely warmed, but not in microwave ovens. In the case of Mrs. Levitt, the microwaving altered the blood and it killed her.
It’s very obvious that this form of microwave radiation “heating” does something to the substances it heats.

One short-term study found significant changes in the blood of individuals consuming microwaved milk and vegetables. Eight volunteers ate various combinations of the same foods cooked different ways. All foods that were processed through the microwave ovens caused changes in the blood of the volunteers. Haemoglobin levels decreased and over all white blood cell levels and cholesterol levels increased. Lymphocytes decreased. Luminescent (light-emitting) bacteria were employed to detect energetic changes in the blood. Significant increases were found in the luminescence of these bacteria when exposed to blood serum obtained after the consumption of microwaved food.
During the Swiss clinical study
, Dr. Hans Ulrich Hertel, who is now retired, worked as a food scientist for many years with one of the major Swiss food companies that do business on a global scale. A few years ago, he was fired from his job for questioning certain processing procedures that denatured the food.
In 1991, he and a Lausanne University professor published a research paper indicating that food cooked in microwave ovens could pose a greater risk to health than food cooked by conventional means. An article also appeared in issue 19 of the Journal Franz Weber in which it was stated that the consumption of food cooked in microwave ovens had cancerous effects on the blood by raising levels oxidative cholesterol. The research paper itself followed the article. On the cover of the magazine there was a picture of the Grim Reaper holding a microwave oven in one of his hands.
Dr. Hertel was the first scientist to carry out a quality clinical study on the effects microwaved nutrients have on the blood and physiology of the human body. His small but well controlled study showed the degenerative force produced in microwave ovens and the food processed in them. The scientific conclusion showed that microwave cooking changed the nutrients in the food; and, changes took place in the participants’ blood that could cause deterioration in the human organism. Hertel’s scientific study was done along with Dr. Bernard Blanc of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and the University Institute for Biochemistry.

Other Eastern European scientists also reported the harmful effects of microwave radiation and set up strict environmental limits for their usage. The United States has not accepted the European reports of harmful effects, even though the EPA estimates that radio frequency and microwave radiation sources in America are increasing at 15% per year.
Carcinogens in microwaved food:
In Dr. Lita Lee’s book, Health Effects of Microwave Radiation – Microwave Ovens, and in the March and September 1991 issues of Earthletter, she stated that every microwave oven leaks electro-magnetic radiation, harms food, and converts substances cooked in it to dangerous organ-toxic and carcinogenic products.

The following is a summary of the Russian investigations published by the Atlantis Raising Educational Center in Portland, Oregon. Carcinogens were formed in virtually all foods tested. No test food was subjected to more microwaving than necessary to accomplish the purpose, i.e., cooking, thawing, or heating to insure sanitary ingestion.
Here’s a summary of some of the results:
•    Microwaving prepared meats sufficiently to insure sanitary ingestion caused formation of Nitrosodienthanolamines, a well-known carcinogen.
•    Microwaving milk and cereal grains converted some of their amino acids into carcinogens.
•    Thawing frozen fruits converted their glucoside and galactoside containing fractions into carcinogenic substances.
•    Extremely short exposure of raw, cooked or frozen vegetables converted their plant alkaloids into carcinogens.
•    Carcinogenic free radicals were formed in microwaved plants, especially root vegetables.
•    Decrease in nutritional value: Russian researchers also reported a marked acceleration of
structural degradation leading to a decreased food value of 60 to 90% in all foods tested.

The following is a sample of these changes:
Lymphatic disorders were observed, leading to decreased ability to prevent certain types of cancers. An increased rate of cancer cell formation was observed in the blood. Increased rates of stomach and intestinal cancers were observed. Higher rates of digestive disorders and a gradual breakdown of the systems of elimination were observed.
DECREASE IN FOOD VALUE:

Microwave exposure caused significant decreases in the nutritive value of all foods researched. The following are the most important findings:
1. A decrease in the bioavailability of B-complex vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, essential minerals and lipotropics in all foods;
2. A loss of 60-90% of the vital energy field content of all tested foods;
3. A reduction in the metabolic behavior and integration process capability of alkaloids [organic nitrogen based elements], glucosides and galactosides, and nitrilosides;
4. A destruction of the nutritive value of nucleoproteins in meats;
5. A marked acceleration of structural disintegration in all foods.

BIOLOGICAL EFFECTS OF EXPOSURE:

Exposure to microwave emissions also had an unpredictably negative effect upon the general biological welfare of humans. This was not discovered until the Russians experimented with highly sophisticated equipment and discovered that a human did not even need to ingest the material substance of the microwaved food substances: that even exposure to the energy-field itself was sufficient to cause such adverse side effects that the use of any such microwave apparatus was forbidden in 1976 by Soviet state law.
•    A breakdown of the human “life-energy field” in those who were exposed to microwave ovens while in operation, with side-effects to the human energy field of increasingly longer duration.
•    A degeneration of the cellular voltage parallels during the process of using the apparatus, especially in the blood and lymphatic areas.
•    A degeneration and destabilisation of the external energy activated potentials of food utilisation within the processes of human metabolism.
•    A degeneration and destabilisation of internal cellular membrane potentials while transferring catabolic [metabolic breakdown] processes into the blood serum from the digestive process.
•    Degeneration and circuit breakdowns of electrical nerve impulses within the junction potentials of the cerebrum [the front portion of the brain where thought and higher functions reside].
•    A degeneration and breakdown of nerve electrical circuits and loss of energy field symmetry in the neuroplexuses [nerve centers] both in the front and the rear of the central and autonomic nervous systems.
•    Loss of balance and circuiting of the bioelectric strengths within the ascending reticular activating system [the system which controls the function of consciousness].
•    A long term cumulative loss of vital energies within humans, animals and plants that were located within a 500-meter radius of the operational equipment.
•    Long lasting residual effects of magnetic “deposits” were located throughout the nervous system and lymphatic system.
•    A destabilisation and interruption in the production of hormones and maintenance of hormonal balance in males and females.

(The health effects of microwaves and microwave ovens)

Because of this brainwave disturbance, negative psychological effects were noted, including loss of memory, loss of ability to concentrate, suppressed emotional threshold, deceleration of intellective processes, and interruptive sleep episodes in a statistically higher percentage of individuals subjected to continual range emissive field effects of microwave apparatus, either in cooking apparatus or in transmission stations.
Conclusions;
From the above indications, the use of microwave ovens is definitely not advisable and with the decision of the Soviet government in 1976, present scientific opinion in many countries concerning the use of such apparatus is clearly in evidence.

Constipation and your Breasts!

Radiation, estrogen, and a variety of chemical pollutants are known to be the major causes of breast cancer, but ones bowel regularity is often overlooked or even considered at this stage. This subject has often demonstrated a common link associated with the occurrence of many acute and chronic symptoms of less than optimal health. By simply eating more (a lot more) than you can excrete, promotes problems. Yeah of course your colon's designed to hold load, but for how long exactly and how much? thats the real 'individual' question.

To prevent this from being a dissertation lets keep it shortish and sweet. By consuming indigestible foods (raw coniferous, raw grains and roots and blended splendid manufactured crap), more food than your body can physically process (Bodybuilders, Athletes, Americans) and even consuming adequate foods though when you're constantly in a sympathetic-stressed state, you'll likely find your holding transit time to be higher than optimal and thus the activity in your small intestine to be not so positive.

So what happens when we leave 'Chyme' and undigested food particles in there for too long?

Endtoxins physiological effects on the organism!
They begin to be broken down by bacteria and those specific bacteria will firstly release gases and

lipopolysaccharides (endotoxin) of which will promote a strong immune response in any animal, activating the sympathetic nervous system, reducing blood flow to the intestine and thus inhibiting the intestines energy production. When stagnation sets in absorption occurs, estrogen promotes intestinal permeability, allowing endotoxins to be moved into the blood. This then becomes a biochemistry/pathology lecture that is interesting but can become quit extensive…

"This swelling, inflammation and metabolic impairment is of course characteristic of cancer, endotoxin is a tumour promoter (Yu et al. 2010). Evidence also suggests that endotoxin increases the risk of diabetes (Pussinen et al. 2011)".

Endotoxin has been linked to have the same effects as adrenalin and estrogen and they all promote one another's activity. They all excite the cells, displacing minerals and water, creating a shock state, impair circulation and both inhibit mitochondrial respiration by wasting oxygen and glucose. So why does this damage or even relate to the breasts?

Well, as mentioned before 'estrogen' and endotoxin promote similar effects. Endotoxin is known to destabilize and inactivate the bowel’s detoxifying enzymes, impair the mitochondria's role by knowingly increasing free fatty acid production and estrogens retention. This retention and increase in estrogen levels has the potential to inhibit two key enzymes.

Exogenous and Endogenous factors that inhibit
cytochrome activity

Number one is my favourite, Pyruvate dehydrogenase. This beauty contributes to linking the glycolysis metabolic pathway to the citric acid cycle and releasing energy via NADH. i.e. this enzyme is key to helping us use glucose, ATP and oxygen effectively for feeling great!

The other enzyme also shown to to be suppressed by estrogen presence, is cytochrome oxidase, an enzyme that is sensitive to blue light and free fatty acid oxidation, but its key when reacting with oxygen to help complete the role of energy production within the Krebs cycle (the last phase).

And when you begin to stop these enzymes from performing on the big stage, long term, the effects of endotoxin and estrogen can calculate huge metabolic problems. The breasts in particular are highly sensitive to estrogen excess (or a lack of progesterone) and the other compounds that are usually found with it (nitric oxide, serotonin, FFA's).

“Endotoxin, produced by bacteria, mainly in the intestine, disrupts energy production, and promotes maladaptive inflammation.” Ray Peat.

How can estrogen effect the breast tissues?

Estrogen lowers body temp, metabolic rate and promotes aromatase formation in the tissues. Both endogenous and exogenous estrogens stimulate breast epithelial cell (safety shields of the body) mitosis, increasing the number of cell divisions and thus the opportunity for random genetic errors.

It has also been suggested that estrogens might have an important influence on risk for developing breast cancer through effects before the initiation of the disease Trichopoulos (1990). Raised estrogen levels during fetal development have been shown to influence morphology of the mammary gland, and increased levels are also thought to be responsible for the persistence of epithelial structures that are known to be sites of malignant transformation (as mentioned before) Hilakivi-Clarke L (1998).

Furthermore, results from animal models and indirect human evidence indicate that exposure to elevated estrogen and progesterone deficiency levels in utero may increase the risk for developing breast cancer in adulthood McCormack (2003). Even if estrogens (of which there are three, I think..) can induce genetic damage, the data overall suggest that proliferative effects are likely to be the most important mechanism by which this hormone acts to influence the development of breast cancer.

“Digestion is quickly shut down during stress…The parasympathetic nervous system, perfect for all that calm, vegetative physiology, normally mediates the actions of digestion. Along comes stress: turn off parasympathetic, turn on the sympathetic, and forget about digestion.” -Robert Sapolsky

The epidemiological evidence suggests that the risk of breast cancer might be reduced by lowering lifetime exposure to oestrogens through changes in lifestyle and reproductive behaviour. So what changes can we offer..to reduce the endotoxic-breast cancer risk link...?

Well…

The Mayo Clinic recommend a variety of approaches depending on the type of injury to the breast. Surgery, where the cancerous growth is removed, lymph nodes or the actual breast itself (mastectomy). Other options depending on your physicians recommendations may be along the lines of radiotherapy, chemotherapy or targeted drugs; such as 'Herceptin' to help lower human growth factors found in abnormal breast tissues or Tykerb often used in combination with chemo in the advanced metastatic individuals…. so as you can see, no real preventative lifestyle tips to reduce endotoxic exposure (though they do mention potential risk factors to consider, constipation not being one of them).

Ray Peat on the other hand recommends maintaining adequate blood levels of circulating cholesterol

Carrots, grate them up or chew them well,
acting as a brush for the intestinal wall!

and thyroid. This he states is due to cholesterols long history as a protectant against many endogenous toxins and thyroids pro energy effects, though an over burdened liver can't convert adequate thyroid;

"We are all subject to a variable degree of inflammatory stimulation from the endotoxin absorbed from the intestine, but a healthy liver normally prevents it from reaching the general circulation, and produces a variety of protective factors. The HDL lipoprotein is one of these, which protects against inflammation by binding bacterial endotoxins that have reached the bloodstream.

Another highly popular suggestion Ray Peat has written about extensively and made to help reduce the incidence of endotoxin threat and keep the intestine clear, is to consume either (a) raw carrot and or bamboo shoots daily. Something as simple as a grated carrot or bamboo shoot with salt and vinegar can produce major changes in bowel health, reducing endotoxin absorption, and restoring constructive hormonal functions. This is largely because of their indigestible nature, antibiotic and antibacterial properties, not only do they pass through the intestine acting as a dust pan and brush but due to the nature of a carrots development beneath the soil they are not prone to threat from hungry bacteria from within the intestine.

"Multiple studies demonstrate that endotoxin damages mitochondrial function and ultrastructure, (Crouser et al. 2002). Endotoxin’s (and estrogen’s) ability to stimulate swelling and hypo-osmolarity of cells inhibits the oxidative metabolism of mitochondria, resulting in decreased energy production and increased lactate production (Bundgaard et al. 2003)".

Dr John McDougall, a highly established, plant based physician advocates removing the cause. According to Dr Mcdougall, dairy proteins are the worst offenders and have been shown to paralyse the intestinal/bowel activity and inhibit peristaltic motion, thus effecting bowel transit time and slowing overall removal of food chyme. This he states occurs most commonly in children due to their signs of hypersensitivity, such as specific IgE antibodies to cow's-milk antigens.

Along with removing dairy from ones diet, Dr McDougall advocates the traditional inclusion of soluble fibre from real foods (fruits, starch and root veg) and if needed insoluble fibre to help prevent any rise in bacterial growth and activity.

Additional recommendations from the research to help clear the gastrointestinal tract from any excess bacterial endotoxin, has been to utilise various pro-paristaltic herbs. For example; yellow dock (Rumex crispus), Cascara sagrada, various Aloe species (in this case many preparations of aloe gel will be useless as anthraquinones are present in the periphery of the leaf, and are not included in many commercial Aloe gel products), Senna, and Turkey rhubarb (Rheum palmatum).

Oh and MCTs (Medium Chain Triglycerides) from the likes of coconut oil have also been shown to significantly reduce lipopolysaccharide toxicity (Kono et al. 2003), cook with it, apply it, do what you want with it, its such a beautiful food!

At recommended doses these herbs and compounds can have gentle, therapeutic effects, this is due to anthraquinones role in inhibiting the formation of nitric oxide, increasing mitochondrial respiration, inhibiting angiogenesis and invasiveness, whilst also inhibiting fatty acid synthase (Zhang, et al., 2002).

Lastly, from a personal perspective and from the objective results that I have gained, by reducing the amount of direct animal flesh I consume (in any state) and taking control of my life through establishing a dream and set of clear values, my intestinal health has improved ten fold. My replacement of calories has come from a large number of tropical fruits, root veggies and grains (organic when possible), all with a speedy transit time, digestible attitude and pro metabolic and glycogen replenishing effects when consumed in adequate balance.

Pooping often is a clear sign of a healthy nervous system, mitochondria activity and food choices. Any tissue that is sensitive to estrogen, will be vulnerable to endotoxin exposure.

Keep your intestine clean and your breasts healthy!

Be wise.

A Privileged Consideration….

I once saw a high school teacher lead a simple, powerful exercise to teach his class about privilege and social mobility. He started by giving each student a scrap piece of paper and asked them to crumple it up.

Then he moved the recycling bin to the front of the room.

He said, “The game is simple — you all represent the country’s population. And everyone in the country has a chance to become wealthy and move into the upper class.”

“To move into the upper class, all you must do is throw your wadded-up paper into the bin while sitting in your seat.”

The students in the back of the room immediately piped up, “This is unfair!” They could see the rows of students in front of them had a much better chance.

Everyone took their shots, and — as expected — most of the students in the front made it (but not all) and only a few students in the back of the room made it.

He concluded by saying, “The closer you were to the recycling bin, the better your odds. This is what privilege looks like. Did you notice how the only ones who complained about fairness were in the back of the room?”

"By contrast, people in the front of the room were less likely to be aware of the privilege they were born into. All they can see is 10 feet between them and their goal.”

"Your job — as students who are receiving an education — is to be aware of your privilege. And use this particular privilege called “education” to do your best to achieve great things, all the while advocating for those in the rows behind you.”

Does the 4.5 Billion year old Sun, CAUSE skin cancer? Just a quick physiological thought...

Mainstream science is absolutely addicted to demonizing the sun and blaming its beautiful rays as the primary cause of skin cancer. Despite our presence on Earth for countless millennia and the fact that people closest to the equator have the lowest incidence of skin cancer, the sun is always cast as the culprit.

Not only that, we are still falling for this nonsense through fear, slathering on the sunscreen in hopes to protect against this non-existent foe. Meanwhile, a growing body of evidence shows that blocking the sun's rays from reaching our skin dramatically influences our optimal vitamin D levels, leading to higher mortality, critical illness, mental health disorders and ironically, cancer itself.

If we know that lack of light or too much darkness damages cellular respiration (by acting on cytochrome oxidase) and is estrogenic and "bright light stimulates/supports progesterone synthesis, we can conclude that lack of sunlight can be a cause of estrogen dominance.

Beyond this, we must appreciate the whole approach and the many factors that need to be considered even if we do manage to get sufficient naked sunlight exposure, as for example, without optimal magnesium, Vit D3 can't do its job and struggles to be synthesised.

I wrote about this in detail and linked 28 references to the literature supporting the role of vitamin D and the considerations one should have before slapping endless amounts of suncream over their delicate organ. That said I also posed the questions regarding 'unsaturated fat consumption and oxidative damage' and 'the effects of the micro particles and our blood stream and Immune system'.

Is it the sun causing the cancer, that provides anti-stress hormonal signals to the mitochondria, optimises glucose oxidation, and provides essential absorption of D3 and sulphur. But when in excess, can elicit damage to the skin and inflammation to certain skin types.

Or

The sun cream that becomes absorbed into the blood stream and restricts the UV rays from being absorbed, leading to toxicity and D3 deficiency.

Don't believe everything you think….

Breasts, Abortions, Health and Awareness!

The more research I read and the more researchers I talk to, the less I have come to believe that women need supplemental estrogen, even after menopause. This is especially since we eat so many estrogenicly manipulating foods and because estrogen can be produced in the human body and in most of its tissues, with its concentrations increasing as we age. For instance take a look and examine a pinch of coal ash, car exhaust fumes or house dust, and you'll likely find various types of estrogen, esterone, estradiol making their way into our biochemistries.

Because some estrogen is secreted In the bile, adequate
fibre in the diet (oats, potato. or raw carrots, for example)
and regular bowel function help to prevent the
build-up of estrogen, which inhibits the thyroid.
Prior to 1947, over 300 papers where published indicating estrogens carcinogenic effects upon animals. DES (Diethylstilbestrol), a synthetic estrogen was used medically from 1947-1964 to prevent miscarriage, despite knowing it causes pre-cancerous changes and abortion from the 1930's. - Barbra Seaman

Its interesting to note that if you're given estrogen in just a small amount and early enough, if can and will prevent the implantation of the fertilised embryo by promoting a hypoxic environment and effectively suffocating the embryo by inhibiting respiration. Though progesterone (pro-gest-ation) on the other hand is known to protect against the toxic effects of excess estrogen, including abortions. This is done by preventing hypoxia and aiding in the delivery of oxygen, glucose and nutrition to the fetus and as a bonus enhancing the development of the babies cortex i.e. its likely to be an intelligent little one, when oestrogen is opposed.

Still to this day a vast majority of doctors promote estrogen replacement therapy (ERT) for the menopausal women, which is implying that doctors believe menopause is caused by a decrease or lack therefore of in available estrogen.

Dr Peat and Broda Barnes have noted in their work that as a women ages, the ratio of estrogen to progesterone increases, so less progesterone is produced in comparison to estrogen. Women (and men) can secrete substantial amount of estrogen regardless of menopause or the removal of their ovaries. This is due to every tissues sensitivity to estrogen and largely the adrenal glands role. When thyroid function becomes inhibited (due to inefficient liver capacity or environmental stressors) the conversion T4 to T3 decreases and the conversion of androgens to estrogen increases- P.K Siiteri.

Tropical fruit helps promote glycogen storage,
up regulate pyruvate DHG and thus thyroid
conversion. Fruits are also digested high up,
thus don't promote the formation of endotoxin.
Endotoxin is linked to breast cancer, fruit is good.
Lastly, one of the most important tools i've learnt to use from Broda Barnes work and Josh Rubin, is the use of body temperature to identify estrogens effects on the individual. Despite the symptoms of chronic blood sugar dysregulation, constipation, migraine headaches, puffiness upon awakening and a general feeling of discomfort long term, body temperature offers objective feedback regarding how well our cells are producing energy (heat) and if our thyroid is converting efficiently. For your information, when functioning optimally we're likely to hover around 36.6-37 degree C, but as a product of estrogens effects and our inabilities to meet our own energy demands with proper food frequencies and rest, many our surviving well below this immune supporting norm.

Below are a number of links to current and past literature. I've put them in so that you can look to make up your own mind and continue the research for yourself and identify if exogenous estrogen in any form is right for you.

Organic considerations….

The organic movement is more of a renaissance than a revolution. Until the 1920’s, all agriculture was generally organic. Farmers used natural means to feed the soil and to control pests. Then several of the high profile advocates for conventional agricultural production began stating that the world would starve if we all continued our organic agricultural practices. They have written articles for science journals and other publications saying that organic agriculture is not sustainable and produces yields that are significantly lower than conventional agriculture. Avery (2000) Trewavas (2001).
The push for genetically modified organisms (GMOs), growth hormones, animal feed antibiotics, food irradiation and toxic synthetic chemicals is being justified, by the rationale that without these products the world will not be able to feed itself.

Is this logic or simply bullshit? (no offence to a 'bull's shit')

What about the soil?
By design the life cycle in nature begins with the microorganisms and hummus giving their lives service to the grassland and plants, the grass then delivers its service to the herbivore, the herbivore is then eaten by the carnivorous animal to then only give its life service back to the microorganisms and bacteria within the soil through decomposition and thus the cycle continues. Now that process is optimal and has been happening for probably well over a millennia in order to maintain a nourished foot or more of top soil and microbial balance within the below ground ecosystems.

Though it must be understood and appreciated that a plant or its fruit that comes from the soil cannot be healthier that the soil from which it was born- Kohnike

I've seen numerous references stating that every gram of fertile soil can populate up to one billion bacteria and fungi. There are many different types of bacteria and fungis, most of these organisms are aerobic metabolisers, meaing that they require oxygen from the soil's atmosphere to optimally function. Though when we begin to congest the dirt by destroying its biodiversity and raping the soil of all its minerals through our conventional farming methods, you begin inhibiting optimal filtration and aeration creating somewhat of a hypoxic effect due to the lack of oxygen becoming available and exchanging of gases (despite the soils air containing huge concentrations of CO2 naturally).

A perfectly woven society of organised chaos, that we need
to learn to leave alone.
With a reduction in earthworms means a reduction in humus available to the soil and if you consider that 1 square foot of humus can contain up to 7 gallons of water, and this has the potential to prevent soil erosion and regulate soil temperatures, then when topsoil is lost because of erosion or poor landscaping, both the water holding capacity and the nutrient relationships of the soil are adversely affected.

The United States of America had lost 61% of its farmable topsoil by the year 1937- Rachel Carson

Healthy soil however, is a complex network of many things including humus, microorganisms, fungi, bacteria, nematodes, earthworms and small mammals. If you take away one, you inhibit the nutrients carried to the growing plants, thus they end up suffering from what is essentially malnutrition. You see, the plants are being fed by the microorganisms that support that particular plant, the friendly symbiotic microorganisms eat their enemies and feed it to the plants (liquid form) in return for the plants sap (sugar and amino acids). So you can see, if plants are left without their nutrient carriers and are forced to take up what is available from the soil, they inevitably become prone to disease and infection the same way we do when we consume mineral deficient foods. (Check out Paul Cheks 'Under the Veil of Deception' article for a more expansive view).

Now comes the issue when we have 90% of our food supply owned and run by predominately five large international companies (Dupont, Dow, Syngenta, Bayer and Monsanto) and have a rate of suicide amongst small scale farmers higher than ever before. Why? Because these big companies are producing crops at such large scale and selling for such a reduced price that small, independent organic farmers simply can't compete. I might be going off track here but, didn't the Romans do a similar thing every time they captured a country? by salting the fields of the farmers to promote dependance on them for their food and seeds. The same is happening today, huge companies own the seeds and food, what happens when you control the food? you have direct control over the people!

Now back on track; If you consider that 10-15 tons of earth or castings (poop) pass through the digestive system of a single earthworm each year to create and maintain our topsoil, of which provides the environment for humus to thrive and microorganisms to feed off, this ecosystem can only happen if the earthworms are not all dead from artificial fertiliser contamination… FYI; chemical based salt fertilisers, genetically modified crops and mono-croping is steadily killing the most important addition to our farms/soil!

You see those five big companies and many others that have a soul intention to only create profit will likely be utilising and pushing methods of farming that disrupt all biodiveristy above and below the ground and exhausting the soils ability to nourish the plants in order to promote fast yielding profits.

The soil is the foundation from where all plants receive their nutrition- Chek

Chemical exposures, should we care?
My very first visit to a commercial farm in North Devon was harvesting and planting wakefield cabbages and iceberg lettuce for Tesco (supermarket giant), this was the beginning of a very drastic change to the way I viewed food. My intention was not to observe their farming techniques and practices, I was initially drawn in and intrigued by the large amount of stored, unwashed cabbages there where just sitting in half a dozen trailers outside the fields. The farms across Devon are pretty open and 'easy to view' and with that I stood for about forty minutes watching these two quad bikes trek up and down 3-4 hectares of mono cropped cabbage land, openly spraying and applying insecticides to warn off cabbage worm and a form of herbicide to control any unwanted weeds.
Now that may sound fine to you and quite necessary to most reading this, especially if you're view is that in order to produce disease free, high yielding crops and enough food to feed our growing population that these technique are essential, but have you considered the very purpose of what food is meant to do or offer? and have you even looked at the stats? ...nope?

Tractors running their lines and protecting their wheat with
chemical pesticides and herbicides. A little here and there,
once in a while, isn't that bad, is it?
Back to the chemicals. Now i used to think there was a universal agreement and united gathering of common sense when discussing the exposures to harmful chemical residues and whether its 'safe' or quite simply neurotoxic. Well as it happens all those people that don't give a F@£k about what goes past there lips tend to think that a little DDT, NPA, chlorinated hydrocarbons, PCB and NPK salt fertilisers (that kill the earthworms) are not actually that harmful.

Well it actually all started kicking off 'mainstream' around the mid 1940's when some idiot discovered the use of DDT and parathion as chemical insecticides and herbicides. Now we have a brand of glyphosate derived insecticide leading the market that has been classified as a "probable carcinogen" by the World Health Organisation, despite being shown numerous times in humans and animals to promote the degeneration of the liver, breast, kidney, reproductives and pancreas, as well as the mitochondria. Though i could go on and this blog post would get quite lengthy for the average reader, I'm just going to share with you two or three very important links glyphosate and various other active compounds that are presenting the downfall in most peoples health status.

Firstly, a general mode of action of glyphosate is that it chelates (wraps them up and renders them useless) the soluble ions of many minerals including calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, nickel and zinc, which are essential cofactors in many specific biochemical reactions. Low magnesium has been shown to decrease production of the most important form of Vitamin D3, essential in bone development. Not only that glyphosate and chlorothalonil have shown to through their chelation of manganese, disrupt the synthesis of glutamine from glutamate, because the enzyme glutamine synthase depends on manganese as a catalyst.
Glyphosate can be expected to induce hypoxia (oxygen deprived) by interfering with haemoglobin synthesis and impaired manganese homeostasis can explain many features of the rising disorders in the human population, including autism, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, osteoporosis, and rheumatoid arthritis.

Secondly, Many pesticides, including chlorothalonil and glyphosate, have been shown to work synergistically to quickly damage vital biological processes in the cells of plants and animals (bees included). Glyphosate has been shown to be an endocrine disrupting hormone, able to induce growth of breast cancer tumor cells in concentrations of parts per trillion. This is well below the level usually studied in toxicology investigations and heavily links to the study done in Thailand where they found  glyphosate mimicking the action of estrogen, and using the same molecular pathways as the natural hormone to promote proliferation of cancer stem cells. They also found that glyphosate had synergistic effects in enhancing breast cancer cell growth in combination with genistein, a common phytoestrogen
Many tonnes of organic squash where harvested in late
autumn from just two acres of land (Gloucester market).
in soybean.

And Thirdly, Mitochondrial dysfunction aka energy failure. Yes it does occur through many mechanisms, Dr. Alex Vasquez and Stephanie Seneff are just two of many leading scientists sieving through the research and producing sound evidence that varying pathways associated with insecticide and pesticide exposure are linked to the inhibition of our cells to effectively respire and function optimally, thus injuring all energetically driven pathways.

Even under scientific and industrial scrutiny—organically raised foods are free from harmful chemical residues used and applied by commercial farmers (who of which are at great risk)! That alone makes them worth the extra money they may cost and the time they may take to acquire. There is a mass of new information emerging implicating environmental pollutants, farming chemicals and food additives as the source of degenerative diseases (see above) and why your getting fatter and dumber!

Nutritional value: Is there even a difference?
Organically raised foods are likely to be chewed on and targeted more often by bacteria, birds, insects and herbivores than their conventional counter parts, thus forcing them to produce more antioxidantion activity and phytonutrient compounds needed to warn off insects and pests.

Beyond the fact that the health benefits of organic foods are controversial, organic fruits and vegetables have lower nitrate content and pesticide residues, and their vitamin C and phenolic compounds are often higher by 20-40% than conventional ones. Some in vitro studies have compared health related properties of organic vs conventional foods, demonstrating higher anti oxidative and antimutagenic activity as well as better inhibition of cancer cell proliferation within organically grown food.

A three year field study of Italian cauliflower's demonstrated that the organically grown crop produced a higher content of ascorbic acid, polyphenols, carotenoids, volatiles, and antioxidant capacity, than the conventionally grown. Though what was most interesting coming from this review, was that during the third year both crops where affected by the lack of rainfall by producing less antioxidant activity and less of the potent anticancer glucosinolates. Despite these reductions, the organic cauliflowers still increased their ascorbic acid, polyphenols, and carotenoids upon comparison to the conventional ones. A big factor linking to this review and a shorter study done on tomatoes, is that many plants treated with synthetic fertilisers have shown to divert their energy towards growth rather than defence, thus producing less secondary metabolites.

From all the Nutritional Therapies and Healing modalities
i've studied, they all seem to unify on at least one thing,
the use of whole-organic real food to promote healing
Why is that?
That being said the literature is split between the soil scientists stating that the organic soil will produce more nutritious food and the "food" scientists/technologists believing that there is no difference between them. One thing that continues to pop up within the literature, is that each vegetable crop is uniquely different. Whilst some fruits or vegetables are affected by the type of crop management, some simply aren't, therefore producing results of no statical difference.

Well if you can't make up your mind wether one is more nutritious than the other, go ahead and experiment on yourself, taste test various foods, purchase a 'Brik Refractometer' and measure the sugar content and quality of two similar fruits (why does that matter?). Do your own research and find what works for you physiologically by measuring body temp and pulse daily to see if you're meeting your energy demands with organic or conventional foods. Or why not go a step further and simply order a round of hair tests to measure your mineral profiles to understand of any deficiencies or toxicity represented from the foods you eat. These both offer objective data about you and bypass any opinion or belief you may have.

The Clean 15 vs Dirty Dozen:
Fortunately not all vegetation is created and processed equally. For example and by design the below ground vegetables contain and produce (once threatened) anti-microbrial, solace and anti-fungal properties that aim to inhibit the digestion of organisms within the soil or simply prevent themselves from being eaten. Therefore do they require the same treatment and attention-to-chemical-detail as lets say lettuce, chard or a cauliflower that is grown above the ground and is thus exposed to threat from herbivores, pests and insects..?
Well as it happens, they too have come fully prepared (when in their raw state) to make sure no sensitive animal takes more than one bite out of their dry 'behind'. You see, the above ground veggies might know how to produce certain endogenous toxic chemicals (goitrogens, oleic acid) to alter the internal chemistry of a herbivorous deer, but when it comes to whiteflies, nematodes or a lonely grasshopper the poor watery lettuce hasn't got a chance of survival let alone "looking aesthetically pleasing for supermarkets". Thus the men in jump suites and their jet packs of sprays come marching in, distributing their neonicotinoid upon your food, the soil and anything that happens to be in the wrong
place at the wrong time.
Despite coffee serving hundreds of millions every day, its
a debated subject. With its huge waste mass from modern
agricultural techniques polluting vulnérable ecosystems
and water supplies, the intense use of fertilisers, Roundup
and insecticides probably isn't helping matters.

So thats how the idea of the 'Clean 15 and the Dirty Dozen' blossomed and while offering consumers an understanding and awareness around what types of fruits and vegetation have been treated most heavily versus the types that have had minimal intervention and exposure to chemical residue. As it happens the Clean 15 that are regularly updated and listed are in fact the "cleanest" commercially produced crops/fruits that are likely to be safest for consumers to purchase non-orgaically. This way you're still giving the 'single parent of five' the option to make conscious, safer decisions, without fully committing to organic financially. On the other hand the listed 'Dirty Dozen' are foods recommended to avoid being consumed if grown commercially and to make a strong effort to buy organically without any synthetic sprays or fertilisers applied. This is due to their vulnerability from insects, herbivores, pests, fungus and along with their exposure to poorly nourished, thin layered soils and speedy profit driven farming practices (Check out the Clean 15 lists here).

Which method produces more food?
In this first decade of the 21st century, many farmers around the world are facing a great economic crisis of low commodity prices. These low prices are due to oversupply. The laws of supply and demand, in current economic theories, show that prices decrease when supply is greater than demand.

Professor Jules Pretty the Director of the Centre for Environment and Society at the University of Essex in the UK wrote: "Recent evidence from 20 countries has found more than 2 million families farming sustainably on more than 4-5 million hectares. This is no longer marginal. It cannot be ignored. What is remarkable is not so much the numbers, but that most of this has happened in the past 5-10 years. Moreover, many of the improvements are occurring in remote and resource-poor areas that had been assumed to be incapable of producing food surpluses."-1998.

More recently if you've tuned into the BBC's documentation of Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's look into "Britain's Waste", you'd see that at this current moment in time we are producing above ground and below ground vegetables far beyond the amount needed and with a large percentage of the crops grown not even being sold to humans. Supermarkets have a big say in what they sell to the population and if the crops aren't symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing, then they are simply not sold, therefore the farmer is now at a loss! I recommend you have a watch or just a visit to a British farm and see for yourself the amount of vegetation being mined out of our soils and not being distributed fairly.

Now instead of me regurgitating the stats, here are just a few from a 2010 paper; 'Organic Agriculture Can Feed the World'.
  • 223,000 farmers in southern Brazil using green manures and cover crops of legumes and livestock integration have doubled yields of maize and wheat to 4-5 tons/ha.
  • 45,000 farmers in Guatemala and Honduras used regenerative technologies to triple maize yields to 2-2.5 tons/ha and diversify their upland farms, which has led to local economic growth that has in turn encouraged re-migration back from the cities;
  • 200,000 farmers across Kenya as part of sustainable agriculture programs have more than doubled their maize yields to about 2.5 to 3.3 t/ha and substantially improved vegetable production through the dry seasons;
  • 100,000 small coffee farmers in Mexico have adopted fully organic production methods, and increased yields by half;
  • Approximately a million wetland rice farmers in Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and in Vietnam have shifted to sustainable agriculture, where group-based farmer-field schools have enabled farmers to learn alternatives to pesticides increased their yields by about 10%.
  • A more recent October 2015 literature review coming out of Europe stated; that yields of organic fruit and vegetable farming systems can reach on average 89–102% of conventional yields.

Since 1946, the sharp increase and use of chemical fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides, improved crop varieties and industrial paradigms are credited with producing the high yields of the ‘green revolution’. Because organic agriculture avoids many of these new inputs it is assumed that it always results in lower yields.

The assumption that greater inputs of synthetic chemical fertilisers and pesticides are needed to increase food yields is not accurate. In a study published in The Living Land, Professor Pretty looked at projects in seven industrialised countries of Europe and North America. ‘Farmers are finding that they can cut their inputs of costly pesticides and fertilisers substantially, varying from 20-80%, and be financially better off. Yields do fall to begin with (by 10-15% typically), but there is compelling evidence that they soon rise and go on increasing. In the USA, for example, the top quarter sustainable agriculture farmers now have higher yields than conventional farmers, as well as a much lower negative impact on the environment and their own health‘ Pretty (1998b) Pretty (1998a).

Think intelligently, go visit both types of farms then decide if the applied chemicals are really bettering yours, the bees, the butterflies and the earthworms chance of creating a sustainable futuristic food supply and biodiversity.

Be Wise.

Beatle.

p.s. Organic doesn't have to mean its USDA certified or British soil association approved, just because someone doesn't have a certification it doesn't mean their all using chemical fertilisers on their food. I know many market sellers that produce wholesome "organic" food day-in-day-out just without the pricey certificate (support those small guys).

Questions to consider:
  • Is non-organic wine really that beneficial and safe?
  • Is your coffee needs negatively impacting vulnerable ecosystems?
  • Do pharmaceuticals and agricultural sprays have similar environmental effects?
