The essentiality of Candida

Its important that we start looking at the function of the body, in order to understand its needs.

Most research published and books written regarding 'Candida' is based off of dysfunction. Before you begin looking at 'candidiasis overgrowth' it would be wise to consider what candida is and its role within our warm organisms.

The Candida Albicans yeast is a part of everyones gut flora, a group of microorganisms that live in your mouth and intestine, and form an essential make up of your guts defence i.e. immune system

Typically the common approach is to blame 'All sugars' for the proliferation of candida, and to "cure" it the common approach is to again eliminate All sugars form the diet. Whilst the modern doctrine does consider the dangerous uses of pharmacuetical grade antibiotics of which has the ability to destroy all forms of gut bacteria i.e. LIFE, the birth control pill, carbon monoxide, radiation and alcohol.
Modern medicines consideration of one's mental/emotional status and its ability to down regulate immune function, an individuals metabolic health, ones levels of slgA production, cellular respiration and the role of sugar and monitoring of body temperature… hasn't seemed to of touched their radar (as yet).

Candida begins to "overgrow" and make its presence felt (literally) when it doesn't get what it needs (suppressed metabolism). Just like any child or animal, when it becomes deprived of the things it needs the most i.e. sleep, food, water, sunlight, love etc.. it will get pissed off, make a scene, let off signs that its not happy and often get aggressive.

Calmness and reflection fills the
environment when one is nourished
But when you nourish the child and fuel its needs, you notice its mood begins to settle, calmness airs the room and signs and symptoms of dis-ease begin to clear. The same is present with candida, a nourished yeast is a quite and content yeast and not harmful throughout the intestine. Its only when it doesn't receive what it needs or becomes overburdened (antibiotics, PUFA's, stress), then you begin to see/feel it making its presence felt by projecting invasive filaments into the intestinal wall, eventually getting into the blood stream and if not promptly destroyed by the white blood cells__ they can grow and quickly kill the person. Though typically only a handful of people die per year due to this, more + more people are tending to believe everything Dr Google states and are becoming convinced they have candida overgrowth at the first sign of an itch, sneeze, scratch or runny nose.

Does candida feed of off sugar? yes, just like us, it requires sugar to regulate itself and by starving "candida" with a low sugar diet you starve yourself to, further more suppressing metabolic function and leaning ever closer to a hypothyroid/hyper catecholamine state. The growing fetus and a childs brain development is dependant on sugar, your thyroid, thymus and liver relies on sugar to produce steroidal hormones, proteins and enzymes, along with every cell in the body thats reliant on sugar to assist mitochondrial respiration i.e. energy production….

The truth is, candida is not the issue causing all your symptoms associated with your ill-health. Its simply like any other immuno suppressive state of dis-ease, whether a cold, diabetes, PMS or heart disease, candida is a symptom of a deeper root cause.
Just one of many tools for
monitoring metabolic health

A biologist named Aviv Bergman PhD, developed a model to assess the benefits gained by increasing body temperatures to protect against fungi, versus the metabolic costs in terms of extra caloric requirements needed to maintain those temperatures.

He found that the best temperature for down regulating fungal pathogens while minimising costs was 36.7°C, pretty close to our normal body temperature (37°C /98.6°F).
Dr. Casadevall was another one who showed that for every 1°C rise in body temperature, the number of fungal species that can infect an animal, declines by 6%. This contributes hugely in explaining why thousands of fungal species can infect and injure our cold reptilian, amphibian, and other cold-blooded animal brothers/sisters, but only a few hundred can cause problems for us warm mammals.

Still, the ones that do infect us can cause a lot of physiological-psycholical havoc, and you may have noticed that chronic fungal infections seem to correlate with advanced age. That’s because thyroid hormone is a primary determinant of your body temperature, and thyroid levels start to decline around age 27.

As circulation is compromised and temperature decreases due to the presence of excess estrogen, cortisol, prolactin, lack of light, unsaturated fats etc…. fungus starts to grow. The core body temperature may be 37°, but it’s the hands and feet that tell the tale. The 37° temperature is required by cells all over the body to minimize fungal threats, so hands and feet should not be cold.
The question we have to ask ourselves each day when we feel, hear, smell and taste reality, when we judge others and ourselves, is whose thoughts or fears are they really? Josh Rubin quite rightly expresses that there are 3 truths in life, your mothers, your fathers and your own. So in oder to figure out why you have Candida overgrowth (or if you even do), you must begin to realise your own truths. Healing from a state of chronic disease or low level immune suppression, is useless if you don't learn anything or take away changes from the experience (lifestyle), in order to prevent its reoccurrence.
The sugar your mitochondria
thrive upon

Other than that, Candida is apart of you, its symbioitc with you just like the soil you grew up around, learn to regulate it, don't kill it.

and in the mean time, practice enjoying your fruit's, meeting your needs and being authentic... at least with yourself.
